Blue lab grown diamonds, also known as “FANCY” coloured diamonds, are created in a laboratory rather than being mined from the earth. These diamonds are chemically identical to naturally formed diamonds and undergo a process that replicates the high pressure and temperature conditions found deep inside the earth. They have the same physical properties, such as hardness and brilliance.

Blue lab grown diamonds are typically created using either the High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) method or the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method. Similar to how Pinks are produced, a small amount of boron is added during the process to give the diamond a blue hue. After growing, the diamond is cut, polished, and graded. Lab-grown blue diamonds are an ethical and eco-friendly alternative to naturaly mined Blue Diamonds.

Most Lab Grown Blue Diamonds have some form of ‘Post Growth’ process after they have been grown.  This ‘Post Growth’ process enhances the Blue Lab Grown Diamonds Colour even further.  Think of it like baking a cake for a little longer to get the desired result. A diamonds certificate will indicate if there is any evidence of a ‘Post Growth‘  treatment.

Colours: Like naturally formed blue diamonds their colour does vary, from light blue, blue, intense blue, fancy blue, green/blue and many other variations.
